CLEAR SKIN 101
To help you learn how to get clear skin overnight (ok, overnight may be an exaggeration … but you get my point), I’ve compiled my best tips and most favorite products to share with you. Here’s everything you need to know to clear up your skin fast!
Wash Your Face Twice A Day
I know, I know, your to do list is long and there are only 24 hours in a day, but this is important for your skin’s health. Check out this study talking about what a big deal this is, y’all.
You don’t want anything harsh on your skin so using these super-soft and gentle bamboo wash cloths will make this ‘chore’ a tad more enjoyable for you – I promise.
And always (ALWAYS) wash your face before bed. I don’t care how tired you are, you are NOT allowed to sleep in your makeup. In fact, if you have make up on, you should double cleanse. First, a make up remover and then a cleanser.
PRO TIP: be sure to wash off all of your cleanser. Leftover cleanser equals leftover dirt and oil.
Get Your Gut Health in Check
Gut health plays a HUGE role in clear skin. If you’re new to this ‘gut health’ world, here’s the 411.
Yes, I drink a lot of water and try to eat clean, but I also support my gut health with this probiotic. Having probiotics in your gut helps you make the most of nutrients from your food, so when you eat a salad for lunch, you’re absorbing the most benefits from the spinach, carrots, and tomatoes.
Prioritize Moisturizing and Hydration
It’s important to pick the right moisturizer, so it doesn’t worsen breakouts or cause your skin to become more oily.
Choose a daily lotion that will absorb any excess shine – like the Countercontrol Matte Effect Gel Cream.
Stop Popping Pimples
And I repeat. Stop popping pimples. As tempting as it is, this is horrible for your skin.
Popping can cause infections and make the situation worse. Instead, dab a treatment on problem areas morning and night. It brings down swelling until your zit disappears.
If your skin is really acne prone, try this all-over treatment to stop blemishes before they start.
I have to share with you this product I refer to as the miracle patch. It’s an invisible spot cover for your pimple that protects it from dirt and covers it in hydrocolloid. These things are LIFE.
If you do happen to have old acne scars, don’t worry & don’t be embarrassed. You are not alone. Try this Overnight Resurfacing Peel to heal your skin over time.
Don't Forget About Your Hair Products
All that hairspray on your bangs could be the cause of those annoying pimples on your forehead and along your hairline. And hair products can cause bacne, too.
So be sure to check the ingredients in your hair products. I love this Beautycounter shampoo and conditioner that I know don’t have any harsh chemicals or fragrances in them. And once a week I like to use Goop G. Tox Himalayan Salt Scalp Scrub Shampoo. Just like it’s good to gently exfoliate our face and body, we want to do the same for our scalp.
On days that I don’t wash, I obsesssss over this Primally Pure dry shampoo. IYKYK.
